Must-have for a good cause: Maiyet
I just recently discovered the luxury brand, Maiyet, and wouldn't you know - just in time - because they recently opened up their first-ever storefront here in New York City (on Crosby Street in SoHo). I would call myself a pretty conscious buyer and love to support brands that do-good in this world. Maiyet works with skilled artisans from all over the world to help keep their craft alive, support their communities, and deliver higher-quality products. Late last year, Maiyet partnered with Nest to create the Varanasi Project - a mission to revive the 500-year-old weaving tradition in Varanasi, India. It centers around creating a "state-of-the-art weaving facility" that will not only bring to us this excellent, rare craft, but also be able to provide the Varanasi community with jobs, a revitalized economy, communal spaces, and clean water. How awesome is that?! I'm so excited for Autumn to arrive so continue below to see some of my favorite picks from Maiyet's upcoming pre-Fall 2013 collection.
